Yoga

Did you know that Yoga means Yoke in Sanskrit?
Yoga means union. Yoga is a practice that unites the mind, body, and spirit. This is the thesis of our name. Root + Yoke Wellness. We are a mental health practice that centers your whole being.

Yoga is a method of joining the individual self with the Divine, Universal Spirit, or Cosmic Consciousness. Mentally, yoga uses breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana) to quiet, clarify, and discipline the mind. Yoga is a way of living with health and peace of mind as its aims.

Yoga is a liberation, peace, and presence practice. Yoga’s uses are vast in how this practice supports and enhances mental health and well-being.

Here at Root + Yoke Wellness it is our aim to share this practice with communities to help heal and be well. If you’re in search of a yoga guide that combines therapeutic tools with movement-based healing, Root + Yoke Wellness would love to support you.

R + Y Wellness invites you to connect and/or reconnect with the fullness of humanity & divinity through intentional practices, tools, and rituals.

  • corporate wellness - yoga, meditation, and intentional practices for professionals/companies

  • private wellness - yoga, meditation, and intentional living practices for private events such as birthdays, holidays with family, retirements

  • create containers within community for self-healing - trauma-informed yoga, guided journaling, virtual wellness yoga offerings

Will you accept our invitation to engage in non-striving, under-doing, and under-achieving as a touchstone to the simple grace, ease, and humility of being human as a spiritual being?

This was my first Rest Retreat. Going to the retreat really helped to unlock things for me as far as my perception and my relationship with Rest and how I previously viewed it as more of as a reward for completing work versus just being able to rest on my own. Attending this retreat was definitely something that I needed to unlock the missing parts I needed to make me whole and functional. This was an awesome experience.

I walked in guarded and I walked away with resources to support me with letting my guards down safely to lead with more C.A.R.E. I loved the experience and attention to detail. Overall, I enjoyed my time and it led to me reframing some thought patterns. I feel more equipped to show up as a shared leader at KIPP Academy West.
